At Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute (i.e. Peacebuilding), we use the Coming to the Table (CTTT) talking circle format. CTTT invites all those interested in engaging in constructive dialogue to come together to envision just, truthful and safe spaces for all community members. We acknowledge and seek to heal the racial wounds from historical trauma of enslavement, genocide, and the racism these collective traumas continue to spawn. Locally, CTTT Minneapolis provides ongoing relationship engagement, leadership, resources, and a supportive environment to dismantle racism rooted in the United States’ history of slavery, genocide of Indigenous people and exploitation of other vulnerable populations including immigrants.
This CTTT talking circle will be facilitated by Peacebuilding's Assistant Executive Director Crixell Shell who identifies as an African American cisgender woman and Executive Director Donna Minter who identifies as a White cisgender woman.
We welcome all in the City of Bloomington and Normandale Community College who want to begin healing from racialized trauma, build resilience, and create healthy power for positive structural change that leads to justice for all to join us.
*Due to concerns of COVID-19, CTTT will be held online via Zoom. A link will be sent to participants shortly before the group meets.
